Either way, Gordon is returning to the Moon’s dark side on a mission nobody can know about, to find an alien installation that may or may not exist, and to locate his brother — who was fired into space by Professor Hamble Blaise after she discovered he’d been sleeping with Jack the Ripper.

Meanwhile: European scientists are vanishing. The Queen needs new legs. And not everyone walking the streets of Earth is quite who they appear to be.

Volume Two lands running and never once considers stopping. Paul Eccentric takes everything that worked in The Giant Step and makes it stranger, faster, and funnier — which, given where Volume One ended, is a considerable achievement.
