Nick Oldham

Nick Oldham is a prolific British crime novelist and former Lancashire police officer, best known for the long-running Henry Christie series—gritty, authentic detective thrillers rooted in the landscapes and politics of northern policing. Born in 1956 and serving with the Lancashire Constabulary until 2005, he draws heavily on real investigative experience to craft fast-paced, procedural-driven fiction that has earned him a loyal readership across more than 30 novels. Alongside the Henry Christie books, Nick has written the high-octane Steve Flynn thrillers and the Jessica Raker series, as well as several stand-alone works. His writing is marked by sharp realism, "inside-the-cop-shop" detail, and a relentless sense of momentum. He has also penned film novelisations, including We Still Kill the Old Way and Vendetta, both produced by Caffeine Nights Publishing. A disciplined, daily writer with decades of storytelling behind him, Nick Oldham remains one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary British crime fiction.
